Update on Wednesday 13th Dec 2006

Where on earth has this year gone, and no, I haven’t done half what I need to do ready for Christmas except carry on feeding the birds and noticing that the numbers once more are on the increase, including the finch population which as we all know been knocked for six.

Like something out of a Hitchcock movie, the day before yesterday when 40 plus Starlings descended on the garden much to the horror of a couple of Blue Tits which appeared to wonder where these “giants” had come from. I’m guessing that they’re from afar AND very happy to see the return of The Blackcap, spotted 2 males and 1 female.

Loads of berries on the holly, just out of the area for Mistetoe and our Tawny Owl is still partying well into the light of morning.

We’ve cleared some damaged trees (mainly Oak sadly) from the Woodland, Badger latrine wasn’t visible so I’ll keep an eye on that situation.
Getting ready to home a couple of heifers still deciding between a couple of breeds, but very excited as this will only add to the creatures visiting !

All the best.

Katie.

Early December: Lots going on.
