Sunday 10 May
Day three for me at The Spring Gardening Show at Malvern and typical isn't it, on the day that the bags are a little heavier than they were at the beginning of the event, and we're all a little worn - that's when we have our official photographs taken, and good job I ironed the sleeves of my blouse, as I was asked to take my jacket off for it! It was lovely to work once again with James Alexander-Sinclair and Joe Swift, especially when I had thought I was going to be in the Cookery Theatre instead. They are great fellas and always make you feel part of a team and we were, what with John and Tony doing the technicals, Pat on the door and great to work once again with a pal from my radio days Reg Moule. Thanks to Nina for asking and here's to the Three Counties Show next month.
Good to see so many people there, and thank you to those who came up to say hello. If you were there on Saturday, you may have seen me on the stage with Sabrina Duncan International - this is for the girls amongst us now - imagine standing next to a chap who dressed up looks better as a woman than you do!
Perhaps the biggest crowd puller of the weekend was Chris Greenwood with his hens. Turns out that one in every ten gardens will have chickens in them within a year, lets just hope a lot of them will be with ex battery ones.
By the way, met a pal of mine Frankie at the show who blogs to James AS under the name 'Veg Plot' and her picture has her covered in cucumbers - I see her in a whole different light now.
Enjoy the weather, I'm recording the Grand Prix and heading off now to Birmingham Symphony Hall for the Gala Concert x
