Thursday 17 December

Heck it's cold, and we've had our first flakes of snow and knowing where we are, a lot more to come!
Glyn has done himself a mischief with his back, which makes for an interesting Christmas as we've just bought one of those chairs that help people get up and down stairs for when his Mum comes, didn't think I'd have to try it out on him first.
Christmas Tree is up and looking good, it was touch and go whether we'd get it in as Glyn has had three very large television screens in the lounge for the past six months which we've been using for when we run the sound and visuals for cookery theatres, thankfully all gone and he's promised me that next year he'll find somewhere else for them to live.
It's been a good year working together and we've had some fantastic events, thinking especially Shrewsbury Flower Show working with James Martin and Herefordshire Food Festival with the rather gorgeous Gino D'Acampo. Hearing that The Hairy Bikers will be back in the area next year so watch this space (www.katie-johnson.co.uk)

Still in the process of card writing and sending, there's always that fear of receiving one from someone you haven't sent to, and hoping there's still enough time to post it before the big day.
Out of a total of thirteen hens we have five of them laying, two of them from the six adopted rare breeds from next door. Glyn with his 'O' level in woodwork has created them a separate nesting box, in fact he's just finishing it now - in the kitchen!
The Highland Cows are keeping well, just had to do their delousing routine again. All very well having these gorgeous thick coats that let them stay out in all weathers, but they make a very nice abode for lice sadly, but we keep on top of it so it doesn't cause a problem.
Still not made our Christmas puddings, it's not the latest I've left it, that was seven years ago when we made them Christmas Eve. As for presents, not quite there, but close. Not sure what Glyn has bought me, I have hinted on a hay rack for the cows, knowing him if he got one it would be wrapped up by the tree!
