Tuesday 21 October
I had something last night I've not had since I was little and that was Ground Rice pudding, it was lovely. Funny how certain things you remember growing up and whenever I was poorly that was what I had and jelly tots if I was up for a treat!
Hope you had a good weekend, and great result for Lewis Hamilton, lets just hope he finishes the job now in a fortnight.
We've got a little copse at Hedgebottom Home just above where the hens are, and on Saturday we earmarked a few of our trees to come down. I hate doing it, but sadly when it was planted before our time, the damage by the squirrels was dreadful, especially to the Oaks and they've just not been able to recover so Glyn will be out there with his 'chainsaw on a stick' sorting them out, at least we won't have to buy logs this winter. Also the hens had an extension so now they have the full use of the grass bank as theirs and as if to thank us, would you believe every one of them laid for us the following day! Reckon we'll end up looking like one soon.
Cows are doing well, spent a bit of time with them on Sunday on the halter, Blossom is a real sweetie and she's just been on heat and the only difference in her was that she was very noisy and didn't eat as much, now she's over it you don't hear her at all and she's back to what she does best - eating, mind you Ruby is good at that as well and so far the grass is keeping up with them, but I guess in another couple of weeks we'll have to start thinking about feeding hay.
Keep wanting to go and see Libby's brothers and sisters before they all go to their new homes but it won't be this weekend as it's the Herefordshire Food Festival, if you're going, hope I'll see you there. I'm working in the Cookery Theatre both days with The Hairy Bikers so should be fun, still looking for a false beard so I can join in.
We're at home today editing some more music for the station and some real good stuff we'll be playing, and it's only two weeks to go tomorrow when you can listen via DAB Digital Radio in Staffordshire and Cheshire or on the website
www.focalradio.com - wish I'd lost that stone!
