Monday 22 December

Funny feeling at this time of year as come Boxing Day it will be the tenth anniversary of losing my Dad and like most of us, Christmas and growing up was incredibly special so it always seems to hit a little harder somehow.
Behind again but nothing new there, it'll happen, and as long as we've got something to eat, a pressie or two to exchange and I can keep awake to go to Midnight Mass then we'll have done it. Mind you, with Glyn and I both being poorly and working silly hours we thought we'd pop into the shops yesterday - bad move! Credit crunch, what credit crunch?!

Made the Christmas pudding last night (told you I was behind) and a spotted dick with the left over currants, and then an urge to do mince pies - kitchen looked like a bomb had hit it but a feeling of achievement no less and as you do, did the cooking in my dressing gown which is all very well and good, but you just hope nobody pops in!

With just a few days to go then, on a personal note I just want to say a huge thank you to you for the past few months, you've really kept me going with your kind words and messages. It's not been the nicest of years so here's hoping for a better 2009 for us all, whatever it will bring.

Happy Christmas to you, and from all at Hedgebottom Home here's to friends old and new.
