Had my eyes tested today so I can now see to do a Blog!
First time infront of computer for a bit what with the NEC and the Three Counties Show, and with Malvern in mind a huge thank you for coming up and saying hello, it's always lovely to catch up. If you made it on the Sunday you would have seen the rather gorgeous Steve Leonard, what a super person. Funny when I look back as I remember his Dad who was one of the vets who came to the farm I was working at some twenty years ago, now I'm alot cleaner and his lad Steve is a superstar.
I'm booked to compere the Autumn Show in September so maybe see you there, and this weekend it's Shobdon Food Festival, maybe I should get a T Shirt made like bands do with a list of gigs on it!
The last few days in Birmingham have been interesting, Glyn and I supplied the audio and visuals for the Heart of England Fine Foods Cookery Stage which was a very small cog in a huge wheel that was the Rotarian Convention. Ban Ki Moon and Mia Farrow were there, we met people from all around the globe and it was decided we all loved the Canadians the best. Some fabulous outfits we saw, incredible accents we heard and a real insight into what good work the Rotary do. My highlight was getting up close and personal with the Guide Dogs for the Blind, amazing what they teach the dogs to do and the life they then in turn give to their owners, wonderful cause.
Got to work alongside my pal Felice again from Fusion Brasserie at Stoulton. The Italian Stallion I call him which I think he likes, haven't got the heart to tell him it's the only thing I can think to rhyme. Worked with a new chef from Warwickshire who was super, Sean Burlinson from Ashton Lodge in Rugby, turns out he used to own a pub just down the road from home, and the lovely Lesley Mackley, a cook and food writer from Shropshire worked her socks off she did and if Glyn and I only do one recipe we learnt it will be her Goats Cheese and Red Onion Marmalade Tart - wonder if there'll be one of those at Shobdon.
