Monday 28 July

I've been asked to return to writing a blog as I used to do one at BBC H&W for two years, so thought I'd give it a go. On this one though I'm afraid there won't be any meeting famous names unless they're lost whilst out walking!
Did meet a lovely couple today who have recently moved into the area though, and think I've convinced them to have ex battery hens as they thought ours were fab. Funny watching them come on after only three weeks out of a cage, yesterday for example one of them discovered a slug and that was it then, they all wanted it, and huge news today - we had six eggs for the first time!

Seeing as this website likes it's wildlife, something else that happened yesterday which I have never seen before was a Buzzard fly not over the top of sheep fencing, but as accurate as you'd like flew into the middle section, wings tucked in through the gap to the other side and then kept flying - amazing to see as they're not small birds are they.

Must say a huge thank you to so many of you who have been in touch now my leaving the BBC has become common knowledge. I was poorly for a while but firing on all cylinders now, but I have to say the reason I have left is because of what was happening to me behind the scenes, I have not left due to ill health.

As I'm writing this we've got rumblings of thunder and the odd flash of lightning so won't be hanging about, and the Border Collie has now become my skin graft and will remain that way until it passes.

Have a great evening, looks like we'll all get wet though which isn't what the farmers want at the moment, just glad I cut the grass when I did.
