Thursday 29 January
Taking a few days off so caught up with an old pal yesterday from Hereford and Worcester days which was nice, mind you, I knew I shouldn't have had that coffee what with going decaff for so long! Whilst I was away, Glyn said he'd seen a Pheasant walking past the lounge window followed by one of our hens, and we're still not sure how it got there seeing as the electric fence was working and not a gap to be seen - must have been watching 'Chicken Run' on the quiet.
Buzzard still around but so far so good. Cows happy unaware they're due for their TB test in the next couple of weeks, fingers crossed for us. Dairy farm next door have never had a reactor in all the generations that have farmed there until this last couple of months which was a real shock, but even stranger she was taken to Scotland to be slaughtered! Weird as another friend of ours has had similar happen to him and he's worried he's going to lose his whole herd of Pedigree Herefords - scary times.
Wildlife wise, saw the Woodcock again which is a real treat, and for the RSPB Garden Birdwatch this last weekend, I counted forty plus in a flock of Goldfinches - do you think if they were sheep I'd have fallen asleep?
Off for a cup of tea, I'm safer with that.
