Thursday 30 October
Halloween has come early today having found one of my hens eaten by something this afternoon. Sad to say it's one of the characters as well, the smallest and the cutest and the baldest when she arrived. Wondering whether it was a fox as all the others were untouched and there wasn't much left of the body so now I'm thinking what to do next.
I know there's never a good time to have a few problems with livestock, but trying to get a radio station on air is taking Glyn away from home all day and all night, the snow came totally unexpected and now I'm sorting out hay for the cows, and then there's the girls getting walked before it gets dark - I tell you, if I could stay at home and be a kept woman, I would!
You can't have escaped the headlines over the past few days with the BBC, Brand and Ross affair. Having worked for the BBC for twelve years I couldn't believe it, for a pre recorded programme which had that content in it to be aired beggers belief, and as human beings you can't understand what was going through their minds when they were leaving those messages - maybe because one of them was on sixteen thousand pound a day, maybe you stop thinking!
I've been trained on the new desk today so it should work come wednesday, and tomorrow (after I've sorted the hens out), I'm off ice skating at Trentham Gardens ahead of it's opening that night. The last time I went ice skating was when I was at school and we're talking nearly thirty years ago - maybe a cushion strapped to my bottom would be a good idea.
Bonfire and Fireworks at Tenbury this saturday so if you're going, please come and say hello, and if you see my hubby can you point him out to me as I've forgotten what he looks like!
