Thursday 5 February

Still snowing here!
It's got to that stage when we've done the pretty and fun bit and now just want to get back to normal, especially having to carry water to the cows because everything is still frozen. Wouldn't mind if after all this walking and carrying I had lost some weight, but no, if anything it's gone on!
Did our good Samaritan bit this morning having managed to get out for some coal and bits and pieces before the afternoon white stuff set in. There we were driving on icy roads and what should be in the middle coming towards us but a young black lab who to cut a long story short was on a mission and it didn't involve coming to me, so you can picture the scene, woman trying to stay upright pretending to ignore the dog so it gained my trust right in the traffic whilst Glyn followed slowly behind with his hazards on, and why is it you always get that driver don't you who doesn't slow down and maybe offer help - no, they think they've read the situation and give you that look! Anyway, it's one way to meet people as you end up knocking on doors. Finally we were pointed in the right direction only to come across electric gates with the keypad broken. After what must have been twenty minutes, dog and owner were reunited and then I thought back to the last six months when I've done the same thing with a St Bernard dog, a cow, three sheep and an old lady!
Libby has been getting a few views on Youtube, and a very nice comment today as well which is nice.
Green Green Grass is on this evening, was great to see an old friends cows on it last week as he is John Challis's neighbour and the countryside is where we live so it's a spotting session later on.
Somewhere I did want to be this afternoon but couldn't because of the snow was at Ella Harris's funeral. Ella was a listener to BBC H&W for all the time I remember,  was the sweetest soul with the kindest heart but also with a wicked sense of humour. A friend both on and off air who will be much missed by Glyn and I, and thank you to our pal Teresa for representing us.
