I was supposed to have driven to Worcester this morning, but the last time I did that trip in this much snow I couldn't get back home for two days! Mind you, it was probably my favourite moment on Radio when I broadcast that particular night.
Took the dogs out in it which they loved, both now laid out by the fire fast asleep. Doing well as I have only fallen down once so far and perhaps the only time when I'm grateful for having a little more padding than I should have which does cushion the blow slightly. Nobody saw me fall either so good news all round.
Hens not so keen on the white stuff, looking back on the calendar, it's around this time of year when we lost a couple of them to the Buzzards, and have to say I've seen two of them hanging about already. Where we've moved our feathered friends for the winter though, means they're more protected so they should be okay, fingers crossed. Next door keep supplying us with rather posh food parcels for them, and they've been that good we've had to check that they've not taken pity on us instead!
Highland Cows looked a picture this morning when I went to feed them their hay and break through their water, they may have two layers of coat on, but I reckon even they know it's cold.
