Sunday 7 December

I think it's me! not only has our computer been playing up again (explanation for lack of blogs) which always seems to happen when I've been using it, but now add to the list our washing machine and DVD player - maybe I've got some kind of magnetic pulse running through my body which prevents me from losing weight as well even when on less than one thousand calories a day! Mind you, not going to lose anything after last night - we went to our favourite restaurant which is in Ludlow. Glyn has been working solidly for over a month with no break, so last night was the first time we'd spent time together although for the entire weekend he has been poorly, infact I'm writing this whilst he stays on the settee in front of the fire coughing his heart out.
All the animals are fine, just given the hens some warm potato so they're happy, the girls have been walked up the hill and the cows had a brush this morning so they look good for passers by! Had my regular chat with Defra on Friday, and they've sent me a huge pack all about keeping a herd of dairy cows - I do tell them I've only got two pet Highlands but I don't think they believe me!
Been a good week on the radio, chatted to some super people including some old favourites from my H&W days who are listening in which is nice. The journey to and from Stoke hasn't been very nice though what with freezing fog and ice and yes we did have snow at Hedgebottom Home which made for a pretty scene but not when you have to go out and drive in it.
With Glyn out of the equation that meant our Christmas Shopping trip was off but have managed to do a little bit online but talk about being behind this year, not even a card I've bought as yet so guess what I'll be doing this week.
Looking forward to tuesday as I've been invited to St Mary's Church in Kidderminster to read at the Prostate Cancer Support Group Carol Service. I'm proud to be their patron so maybe see you there. I gather it's not traditional readings which is interesting, I'm doing a piece from DH Lawrence's The Rainbow so a new one on me.
Can't remember if I wrote about seeing my very first Woodcock whilst out and about walking, amazing bird to see and I hear there's a flock of Waxwings doing the rounds so another great bird to look out for if you get the chance.
Off to do a bit more, if it's all working I'll write again tuesday before the service, and if you're there please come and say hello.
